Review: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

Probably one of the most popular BB creams in the market today is the Missha M Perfect Cover. Luckily, Missha has a website available to those in the US. yay!

Product Info taken from the website: "Blemish Balm, also called BB Cream, is known to have been formulated as an after-treatment cream to help patients who have gone through laser skin surgery to soothe and regenerate the skin.

The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with
the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.
 "

Info on the front tube: "Missha M... offers a novel skincare concept with BB cream, which lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability, and prevents skin aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties."

There are 5 shades available: #13 Milky/Bright Beige, #21 light beige, #23 Natural Beige, #27 Honey Beige, and #31 Golden Beige. So far, this is the only BB cream that I know of that offers more than 1 shade.

I have no idea why I didn't check this but I meant to order #23 in Natural Beige, but only after I received this that I noticed I ordered #13 Milky Beige instead. I should've checked it.. whyyyy!!!?

RP: 29.99 for 50 ml

It looks SOOOOO pale!!

*hits my self*

*sigh*

Shade #13 has a pink undertone, and I dont know if it is because #13 is too light for me but after oxidizing it looks very highlighter-ish to me, my skin has this weird too glowy/shiny look.

Consistency is between a liquid and cream
easy to apply (I apply my BB creams with a patting motion)
Coverage is light

Coverage is probably buildable, but one application already felt heavy, and emphasized my dry spots. BB creams have a tendency to look unnatural upon application but oxidizes to a natural finish. Unfortunately, this looked and felt unnatural even after oxidization. (Even with the other shades. I have the deluxe sampler

Note: I'm doing the review not just based on shade #13, but a mixture of #13 and #31 for my color match. Swatches of the others will be posted soon.

PROS:
-> SPF 42
-> Whitens
-> Skin evens out
-> Easy to apply
-> Tube container, Pump
-> Last all day

CONS:
-> Feels thick
-> Looks unnatural
-> Ascentuates dry spots
-> does not fully cover
-> After using for a week, pimples showed up around my jawline :O

Looking around online, there are plenty of people that like this product. I want to like this but no... not for me.

*I have the BB Deluxe Sampler which I will swatch and post soon*

Missha BB cream is available on the website here for $29.99, and the Deluxe set here for $39.99.

Note:
*there is a holiday promotion now 30% off for the BB cream, and the Deluxe set for $21.99 instead of $39.99.
*New sign ups will also receive the M perfect cover BB cream in shade #21 for free. (just pay shipping)
*Missha Brand is cruelty free.

Comparison: Eye Primer (Nars, E.L.F. && Etude House)

Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (0.26 oz)

What I like:
-> Product looks white but applies clear
-> Applies velvety smooth
-> color looks vibrant
-> eyeshadow lasted and looked the same all day.

What I don't like:
-> 24$
-> hard to tell if product is almost out
-> the rubbery packaging attracts mess && is hard to clean.

The thinnest formula among the 3, it is easy to spread and can withstand light water

E.L.F. Mineral Eye Primer (0.15 oz)

What I like:
-> Only cost $3 (The essential one cost $1 for 0.17oz)
-> Works good enough
-> Easy to see how much product left.

What I don't like:
-> does not dry clear
-> color not as vibrant
-> Does not last all day, probably a couple of hours depending on the weather
-> The sponge on the applicator seems thin, and it gets a little pokey

This does not give the same vibrant color impact of Nars, and does not last all day (3-5 hours?), but for the price it is good enough for an everyday primer.

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer (0.35 oz)

What I like:
-> Works like Nars (Wear/Vibrancy/Application)
-> color looks more shiny
-> Packaging looks cute
-> Softest applicator compared to the others
-> Easy to see how much product left

CONS:
-> Availability
-> Price (depends on where you buy it, sells for 17$ in Amazon.com)
-> hard to get out the product after a while.

Compared to Nars, it does not last as long... but it does make my eyeshadows look more shiny. The price really depends on where you buy it, I got a relative to buy this for me in the Philippines for around $7 which is way cheaper than buying in amazon or yesstyle, I've seen it sell for $7 in ebay straight from korea.

L-R: NARS, ELF, ETUDE HOUSE

L-R: Nars, ELF, Etude House

I used LA colors eyeshadow on the swatches above, they apply very light.. almost no color at all (see in between), Obviously Nars made the colors vibrant, ELF did a poor job here (but it works good for my darker eyeshadows), Etude looks washed out because of the lighting but it looks as good as the Nars in person.

Note: E.L.F and Etude House are both cruelty-free

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm

Disclaimer: The following products were sent to me as a bzzagent for feedback and review purpose.

... continuing from my last post, this post will be about the Baby Lips Lip Balm. (MSRP 3.99)

There are six varities available, and I was sent five: Peppermint, Quenched, Peach Kiss, Cherry me, and Pink Punch (not pictured above, I gave it to my Aunt) and Grape Vine (which I do not have)

L-R: Peppermint, Quenched, Peach kiss (tinted), Cherry Me (tinted)

According to Maybelline, these lip balms will visibly renew lips, provide 8 hours of hydration, and contains SPF 20.

At first I thought that they would be strongly flavored as their name suggest it, but suprising enough there is little to no flavoring. Cherry Me had the strongest flavor and scent, Peppermint has no scent but has a slight minty flavor, while personally I think both Peach Kiss and Quenched has no scent or flavor. These do not last 8 hours for me, but they do last longer than my other lip balms.

Pros:
-> Contains SPF 20
-> Average wear last longer than most lip balms
-> The scent and flavor is subtle.
-> Packaging is colorful, playful, and cute.
-> sheer color

Cons:
-> Packaging does look cute but not in public. too cute and young

*Update* Even though the brand test on animals, I have kept using this product. This is overall a good product,and the tinted ones are a huge plus.

Note: This brand test on animals

Review: Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes

Disclaimer: The following products were sent to me as a bzzagent for feedback and review purpose.

The most recent campaign I was included in as a Bzzagent was the Maybelline Baby Lips and Lots of Lashes, In my kit I was sent 5 Great lash mascara, and 5 of the babylips lip balm. This review will focus on the Great Lash Mascara and the babylips will be reviewed after.

I know the original great lash is a top favorite, I tried but it wasn't for me. but since I received this in my kit and saw the new wand design, I had to give it a try again.

Formula wise, I think that it is the same as the original one. It seperates, and lengthens, looks nice and natural. But it takes a while to dry, smudges easily, and any water near results in horrible racoon eyes. The only thing I liked about this new one is the new wand design, it was easier to apply and reach the sides of my lashes, and was perfect for coating individual lower lashes.

What I like:
-> Lengthens
-> Seperate lashes/ no thick clumps
-> Looks Natural
-> wand is small enough to reach all of my lashes
-> easy to coat lower lashes

What I don't like :
-> It takes a while to dry
-> Smudges
-> Not water proof

As much as I love the way my lashes look using this, I need a waterproof formula since I use eyedrops frequently throughout the day. Hopefully Maybelline comes out with a
 waterproof formula with this wand in the future.

Late Halloween Post

Halloween is over but here are some photos of my not so little boy dressed up as a  bee. With his attitude he is more suited to be called a killer bee.

Mochi The Killer Bee

I felt like he was very embarassed with the costume, he wouldn't look at me and kept turning his back from the camera.

This was his expression the whole time...  (━┳━__━┳━)

After I kept insisting on taking a nice picture of him, he finally gave up. (●´∀`●)

Shopping day

There is no "too early" to wakeup when it comes to shopping. My Aunt and Uncle are visiting from the Philippines and since they came here to shop... we spent the day wandering around the Outlet mall, spent almost 8 hours out! Love having my Uncle and Aunt as a shopping buddy, first time I saw the car trunk full. I think my Uncle shopped the most? I was a little sad about my lipstick purchases (I have too many nudes =.=) and forgetting to buy candied/caramel apples... but happy with the tops I purchased, the pretty bags, new baking equipments, and of course the Green tea frappe! love love <3

Another visitor will be visiting us this coming Wednesday, my momma's childhood friend, she is apparently a very amusing lady... so we shall see.

Next post... Universal Studio-Harry Potter trip, and hopefully some Orlando mall hauls.

Review: Kuan Yuan Lian Cleanser Powder

Kuan Yuan Lian Cleansing Powder
(Green/Mung Beans Cleanser and Jobs Tear Whitening Cleanser)

Job's Tear whitening Cleanser/ Beadlike Grain powder

Depending on which site you visit, this type is listed under the name of Job's tear whitening (bobodave.com) or Beadlike Grain Powder (sasa.com)

contains a tiny spoon inside

manufacture date and expiration date clearly visible.

Everything is written in chinese, but since I never paid attention in chinese class I just don't understand anything... at all. *such a failure*

SASA didn't have a lot of information so I had to do research! and research says....

Product Description taken from Bobodave:
-It contains Green Bean, Job's Tear, Pearl, etc.
-This powder cleanser is mild.
-It can dissolve the dead skin cells and cleanse the dirt in the pore, control the oil of the skin.
-Job's Tear and Pearl are famous for whitening. They can brighten the skin naturally.
-After usage, skin will become whiter and brighter.
-It is suitable for oily and pimple skin

Green/Mung Beans cleanser 300ml Refill pack
transferred in a empty container
Manufactured date and expiration date

At the time I bought this from sasa the one with the container was unavailable, so I bought a refill pack instead.

Product Description taken from SASA:
Kuan Yuan Lian Green Beans Cleanser is created with natural green beans, which are rich in Vitamin A, B and C. After cleansing, skin feels fresh without sensation of greasiness or tightness. The nutrients in green beans could therefore permeate into skin. Skin looks nourished, youthful and healthy.

I bought both from SASA earlier this year, and ever since this has been one of my favorite multi use cleanser.

As a cleanser:
Add drops of water into a proper amount of Green Beans Cleanse. Mix well until it turns to dense clay. Massage over skin for 1 minute so that it emulsifies. Then rinse off with lukewarm water. Afterwards, pat skin with cold
water to tighten pores.

As a Mask:
Follow the above method to cleanse face. Then blend the clay over face. Leave on for 5-10 minutes.

A teaspoon amount
Depending on the amount of water, it can be runny or mudlike.

I personaly prefer mudlike since I feel it is easier to spread around. Between the  2 types I don't really see any difference. They both smell like fresh green beans, very earthy.

Pros:
-> Smells very fresh and earthy
-> Works amazing at drying/healing pimples
-> Less breakout
-> Evens out skintone
-> Multi use
-> Skin looks healthy and bright right after
-> exfoliates skin
-> Affordability

Cons:
-> Can be drying for those with dry skin (I use this 2-4x a week)
-> Can cause skin sensitivity, redness (scrub gently)
-> Can be messy, and can spill if not careful
-> Availability (Not Local, but is available on SASA and BONJOURHK for those in Asia)

This is, like I mentioned earlier one of my favorite cleansers, I usually use this right after I remove my makeup (on too much makeup days) or as a mask on days when my skin is problematic.

E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick

Last time I ordered from eyeslipsface.com was supposed to be just for my cousin and sister but I just can't help myself and I ended up purchasing more products for myself. (T▽T) cheap makeup is addicting.

Cool Coral, Runaway pink, and natural nymph.

These lipsticks arrived packaged in a cardboard box, with visible color outside/ the color outside looks misleading don't they?

L-R: Natural Nymph, Runaway Pink, Cool Coral

I know that swatches online are different from the actual product but cool coral was something I didn't expect. Looking at the swatches online cool coral was the most orangey but it looks closer to red than orange.

and swatches....
L-R: Natural Nymph, Runaway Pink, Cool Coral

so I guess on my swatches Cool Coral has a orangey undertone but still I was hoping for closer to orange. (* ̄m ̄)

so on the website it says:  "Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft color naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturizing formula. The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
" - eyeslipsface.com

Pros:
-> Pigmentation is good (similar to NYX round lipstick)
-> color is buildable
-> creamy (again similar to NYX's but not too creamy)
-> Affordablity (cost $5 each)
-> Not drying
-> does not have a weird lipstick taste
-> No chemical etc.

Cons:
-> Last 3-4 hours (or as long as you do not eat/drink)
-> Availability (can only be purchased online)
-> Color OL is different from actual shade.

Aside from the shade Cool Coral, I was happy with my lipstick purchase.
