Review: E.L.F. Studio Lipgloss

E.L.F.'s studio line has a bunch of lipglosses from minty, glittery, pouty, to plain gloss. I have tried the glittery and the minty ones, they were okay but I am just not a glitter nor a minty lipgloss kind of person. For 3$ each, I thought I might as well try their glossy gloss ones too.

I got 3 out of the 10 shades available.

What I like:

-> $3!! Cheap but great quality (plus ELF do tend to have half off sales so you can get this for $1.50)

-> Shades available (from nudes, pinks, to reds)

-> Pigmented

-> NO GLITTER! 

-> Can be bought online and in stores (Target)

What I don't like:

-> Thick formula, very sticky.

-> Applicator

-> Hard to remove, I just end up smearing the gloss all over

So far every lipgloss brand that I have tried are always sticky and just not for me, but for those who do like using lipgloss, for $3 each these are not bad.

Review: E.L.F. Essential Lipstick

eyeslipsface.com always send out emails about promos that makes me buy more, even though I have swore not to anymore. o(╥﹏╥)o In my last order, I bought mostly lip products, the essential lippies, some studio glossy gloss and conditioning lip balm (which will be reviewed next)

In the Essential lipstick line, Out of the 12 shades available I picked up 8, 2 for me and the rest for my little sister.

Again so shiny and just so... waxy...

Swatch above is with just 1 swipe of the lipstick, it is pigmented and even more so on my lips. As you can also see from the swatch above some applies smooth and creamy while the others have this rubbery... eraser looking leftover.

What I like:

-> For $1 each, these are really cheap

-> Very pigmented

-> Semi-Matte/Cream Finish (no shine or glitter here)

-> Applies easy

-> Last about 3-5 hours depending on the shade

What I don't like:

-> Formula is not consistent

-> Scented (Nostalgic smells like plastic, while the rest have a fruity scent)

-> Drying.

I prefer the pigmentation and the finish of these lipsticks than the studio ones, and personally I think these last longer. The only thing I don't like is how drying they can be, especially if you dont use a lipbalm.

Comparison: Eye Primer (Nars, E.L.F. && Etude House)

Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (0.26 oz)

What I like: 

-> Product looks white but applies clear

-> Applies velvety smooth

-> color looks vibrant

-> eyeshadow lasted and looked the same all day.

What I don't like:

-> 24$

-> hard to tell if product is almost out

-> the rubbery packaging attracts mess && is hard to clean. 

The thinnest formula among the 3, it is easy to spread and can withstand light water 

E.L.F. Mineral Eye Primer (0.15 oz) 

What I like:

-> Only cost $3 (The essential one cost $1 for 0.17oz)

-> Works good enough

-> Easy to see how much product left.

What I don't like:

-> does not dry clear

-> color not as vibrant

-> Does not last all day, probably a couple of hours depending on the weather

-> The sponge on the applicator seems thin, and it gets a little pokey

This does not give the same vibrant color impact of Nars, and does not last all day (3-5 hours?), but for the price it is good enough for an everyday primer.

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer (0.35 oz)

What I like:

-> Works like Nars (Wear/Vibrancy/Application)

-> color looks more shiny

-> Packaging looks cute

-> Softest applicator compared to the others

-> Easy to see how much product left

CONS:

-> Availability

-> Price (depends on where you buy it, sells for 17$ in Amazon.com)

-> hard to get out the product after a while.

Compared to Nars, it does not last as long... but it does make my eyeshadows look more shiny. The price really depends on where you buy it, I got a relative to buy this for me in the Philippines for around $7 which is way cheaper than buying in amazon or yesstyle, I've seen it sell for $7 in ebay straight from korea.

I used LA colors eyeshadow on the swatches above, they apply very light.. almost no color at all (see in between), Obviously Nars made the colors vibrant, ELF did a poor job here (but it works good for my darker eyeshadows), Etude looks washed out because of the lighting but it looks as good as the Nars in person.

Note: E.L.F and Etude House are both cruelty-free

E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick

Last time I ordered from eyeslipsface.com was supposed to be just for my cousin and sister but I just can't help myself and I ended up purchasing more products for myself. (Ｔ▽Ｔ) cheap makeup is addicting.

Cool Coral, Runaway pink, and natural nymph.

These lipsticks arrived packaged in a cardboard box, with visible color outside/ the color outside looks misleading don't they?

I know that swatches online are different from the actual product but cool coral was something I didn't expect. Looking at the swatches online cool coral was the most orangey but it looks closer to red than orange.

so I guess on my swatches Cool Coral has a orangey undertone but still I was hoping for closer to orange. (*￣m￣)

Pros:

-> Pigmentation is good (similar to NYX round lipstick)

-> color is buildable

-> creamy (again similar to NYX's but not too creamy)

-> Affordablity (cost $5 each)

-> Not drying

-> does not have a weird lipstick taste

-> No chemical etc. 

Cons:

-> Last 3-4 hours (or as long as you do not eat/drink)

-> Availability (can only be purchased online)

-> Color OL is different from actual shade.

Aside from the shade Cool Coral, I was happy with my lipstick purchase.

eyeslipsface haul

A couple of weeks ago I decided to order from eyeslipsface.com again, this time though most products are going to my cousin in the Philippines. Sending a big box full of things again, mostly home and beauty products. I was excited receiving this package but then Fedex lost my original package, (wasted a lot of time talking to their customer service/trace department) luckily ELF has great customer service and was able to send out a new one a couple hours after I called them. The second one arrived days later than the expedited 3 day shipping (I blame fedex again) and was missing a couple of items. (out of stock :[ ) Here my luck is at its worst again since all the out of stock items were for me, and were the ones I was looking forward to. haaaaa~

Review: E.L.F. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation

I don't usually wear liquid foundation but lately I find myself collecting foundation, shades usually look fine/matching the first time I apply them but once I'm in the car... *oxidize*  my face would look way too pink or orange compared to the rest of my body.  its just... Ehhh. 

Anyhows... one of the foundation that I have collected is from ELF eyeslipsface.com, I bought the E.L.F. studio flawless foundation in SAND, and BUFF. (should've ordered porcelain too) These cost $6 each, has SPF15, and contains 0.8oz/23g.

Color wise buff is way too dark for me, while sand tends to oxidize too pink for me. (I'll try porcelain next since Ive seen a comment on how it has a yellow undertone) The foundation comes in a frosted glass container which is bulky/heavy, and a pump. The First time I tried using this the cap came loose. It takes a couple of pumps for the product to come out, The foundation runs very liquidy and is easy to blend. It is scented, not an overpowering scent but it does linger. It covers up my red marks, and skin looks dewy What I dont like about this though is that it feels sticky, the scents lingers throughout the day and it transfers!! (see photo below)

This was taken when I blotted the swatch above (Left: sand Right: buff) I didnt even rub or anything, just blotted. nobody likes foundation on their clothes (T_T)

What I like:
-> Coverage is medium to full

-> Contains SPF

-> Cheapest drugstore foundation brand I know of (ELF always have promos/coupons)
-> Skin looks natural and dewy
-> blends easy/ does not cake

What I did not like:
-> scented
-> feels sticky
-> product transfers
-> pump (this is a con since the pump seemed harder to use than the other pumps I have, either no product or a lot of product comes out)
-> availability (online or target stores)
-> hard to find a shade match (6 shades to choose from)
-> It makes my skin itch and gives me red bumps (pimples too if I have it on too long)

Comparison: cream eyeliner ( Wet N Wild vs. E.L.F. )

On their website the description is "The precision of a liquid liner with the ease of a cream application, this velvet-rich eyeliner provides long-lasting definition in a waterproof formula. Easy-to-use brush included" There are 2 colors available online: Black and Eggplant, but so far I've only seen black in the stores nearby.

It took me a while to find the Wet N Wild eyeliner since buying online was not a choice, there's no CVS near my place, and the Walmart I go to is always out of stock. Luckily during one of my 2 am visits to Walmart they just restocked this product. (It was a worthwhile ice cream trip! :D) If im not mistaken I bought this for around $5. It didnt advertise waterproof or smudgeproof but ehh I just had the urge to try this thing out. The brush that came with it was a little too 'cheap' for my liking, it was big and scratchy. So I just use my regular eyeliner brush to apply this product, a few strokes and voila. I really didnt expect it to stay put all day, so I was a little suprised when I got home and it looked exactly the same as when I applied it. no smudging, no fading. Best part about the suprise is that it is waterproof! The only way I get it completely removed is by using my neutrogena makeup remover, and a bunch of swabs. I love this product, and wish they make more colors.

Next is the E.L.F. studio cream eyeliner, The time I bought this online, black was out of stock so I got coffee and purple instead. I gave the purple to my sister so I didnt get a chance to swatch it, but I did swatch coffee below. 

Compared to the wet n wild eyeliner, this cost $3 and since I used a 50% off studio line the time I ordered I got this for only $1.50. how cheap is that? Unlike wet n wild this does advertise smudge proof and water resistant, but does it really?

From the photo above, you can see that both products are water-proof and smudge proof. They were both applied using the brushes that came with it.

Comparison Wet N Wild-E.L.F.

> Color: 1 or 2 lines using wet n wild is enough since the color is bold while

it takes more strokes for E.L.F. to evenly apply, and for the color to be bold.

> Consistency: Wet n Wild is thicker thus bolder lines, while E.L.F. is a tad too creamy which makes it hard to evenly apply right away.

> Time: Wet n Wild dries up fast so it is hard to make a mistake with lining while the E.L.F. liner takes time to dry.

> Packaging: both came in a plastic container, and I like them both.

Both cream liners are good, and if I were to choose of course I'd get the wet n wild. But color wise, E.L.F has more colors and it is easier to buy. (online/target) 

A recent discovery about the staying power of the Wet n Wild liner is that even after I took a shower and scrubbeeeeeeeed my arm, the line is still on my arm. Seriously, makeup remover is the only thing that completely wipes it off. 

ELF Review: Complexion Perfection/ Golden Bronzer/ Contouring blush and bronzing powder

I really tried, but I just cannot stop purchasing cosmetics. It also does not help that Target carries ELF lines. I've been addicted to their cosmetic line ever since I discovered them, truly affordable and some of their products really do work out great for me. Their website also has promos going on everyday which means more products = lest cost. :D

I got this with my first purchase from eyeslipsface.com, I REALLY like the color I saw on the website but when I opened the package. ugh.. the color was completely different from what was on the website. First date looked more like hot pink than the peachy pink shown on the picture above. or is it just me?
